EAST COWETA BAND BOOSTERS
As parents of students in the band we welcome you as members of the East Coweta High School Band Boosters (ECBB). The ECBB is the support structure for the East Coweta Band Program. The East Coweta Band Program includes: all Concert Bands (Concert, Symphonic, Wind Ensemble), the Marching Indians (Band and Guard), several Ensemble and Chamber groups, Indoor Percussion, and the Winter Guard. The ECBB is made up of parents of current students in the East Coweta Band Program - everyone who has a student in the program is automatically a member. The ECBB supplies the labor and funds that enable our band to have the excellent opportunities of travel, competitions, uniforms and an exceptional award winning program. While the Coweta County Board of Education is generous in supporting the band programs in all Coweta County schools, they do not allocate money for activities like marching band or sports. The Coweta County School Board provides the band director, one assistant band director and a band room. All of the other needs are covered by the ECBB through band fees and fundraisers that we support by giving of our time, talent, and treasure.
The ECHS Band Boosters hold monthly meetings in the high school band room on the second Tuesday of each month. These meetings will serve to keep your family updated on the current events concerning the ECHS band program and your band student(s). We also host several Social Media sites (including this website) and a CHARMS website that will provide your family with a calendar, posting of all events, forms and important information your student may forget to discuss with you from class. (Links for all those sites are on the "Get Social/Links" page.) We utilize email as our primary means of communication to all parents and students. Please make sure that we have your current E-mail address (forward to the Booster Secretary at ecbb.sec@gmail.com) or if you are not on the internet, a telephone number where you can be reached. The ECHS Band Booster Executive Board is here to help you with any questions and concerns.
There are numerous opportunities to participate in your child’s band experience. The band program will need chaperones for away games and competitions, parents to man the uniform room before and after football games, a crew to transport equipment and props on and off the field, and tons of ongoing projects to improve our award winning band program.
We look forward to working with you,

Some Easy Ways to Help the Band Program
- Give your child support & encouragement for being in band! Tell him/her how proud you are of what they are learning and how they are changing as part of the band.
- When picking up your kids from band get out of your car and get to know the other parents! Better yet, come early to watch the kid’s progress and socialize with other band parents. Building relationships with other adults in the program will benefit both you and your child!
- Come to the Band Booster Meetings! Meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the band room. The ECHS Band Boosters has bylaws, officers, and regular meetings. Since you are a Band Booster, you also have a say in the operation of the booster organization and can vote at band booster meetings held regularly throughout the year. And you’ll always walk away with information your kids forgot to tell you.
- Pay your dues on time. We know it’s not easy, but it is important to the existence of the band program.
- Join the Care Crew and help with the Care & Feeding of students. During band camp, parents are needed to help serve dinner. And, kids LOVE baked goods and snacks anytime!
- Spread the Word - tell all your friends, family, co-workers and neighbors how great your kid is for being a member of the ECHS Marching Indians. .
- Attend football games and competitions to cheer for them! The band ALWAYS performs better with a large cheering section behind them.
- Volunteer to Chaperone. After all, you’re coming to the game/competition anyway!
- Join our Equipment Crew and assist us with performances and competitions. Not everything is heavy, and much of it is on wheels. Not able to attend? Lend a hand at the school when you drop-off & pick-up your child. Or help us build all those props Teddy wants!
- Help with fundraisers - the more hands, the easier the work!
